Draiocht Spellstalker

Hit die: d8
Skill points: 4 + Int modifier
Class skills: Concentration (Con), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), Knowledge (nature) (Int), Listen (Wis), Search (Int), Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis)

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: None gained. Subject to Druid restrictions on armor.

Spells: At 1st, 3rd and 5th level, advance in spells known, spells per day and caster level as if gaining a level in a divine spellcasting class held prior to taking this class. Other level-dependant variables unaffected (e.g. familiar, turn undead, etc).

Sense Arcane (Su): If an arcane spell is cast within 10 miles per class level of the Draiocht Spellstalker, he is allowed a Wisdom check as a reaction. The DC of this check is 20; add the caster level of the cast spell as a circumstance bonus to the check. If Defiler magic is used in the casting, the check automatically succeeds by ten. If the check succeeds, the spellstalker knows the direction and distance (within 100 ft) of the caster of the spell. If the Spellstalker beats the check by 5 or more, he is able to discern the spell school cast; if the Spellstalker beats the check by 10 or more, he is able to discern the caster’s race and class (subject to protective magics such as nondetection; if such is in effect, the Spellstalker is aware of that but gains no further information).

Upon arriving at the scene of the casting, the Spellstalker may attempt to use the magical residue of the spellcast to follow the caster. This is a special use of the Track feat, using the Spellstalker’s Spellcraft check rather than his Survival check. Standard modifiers for time (since the casting) and ambient conditions (other spells cast) apply.

Favored Enemy: Arcane (Ex): The Spellstalker gains proficiency at tracking and fighting arcane spellcasters. This benefit acts like the Ranger’s favored enemy class feature, save that it applies to any creature with levels in an arcane spellcasting class (including prestige classes).

At level 5, the relevant bonuses given by this class feature increase, as per the Ranger class feature.

Resistance (Su): The Spellstalker’s constant training against the ravages of the arcane gives him a certain heartiness when it comes to resisting such spells. The Spellstalker adds half his class level (rounded down) to all saves and defenses against arcane spells.

Wild shape (Su): If the Spellstalker has the wild shape class feature, half his class levels stack for purposes of determining his effective level for use of that feature.

Tree stride (Su): At 3rd level, the Spellstalker gains the ability that makes them feared by arcane spellcasters across the land. Once per day per point of Wisdom modifier (minimum 1), the Spellstalker may cast tree stride, as the spell, with the following addendum: if the Spellstalker uses this ability within a number of minutes equal to his Wisdom score of successfully using sense arcane, he may set as his destination tree the nearest suitable tree to the location sensed.

It’s worth noting that any caster in the branches of Mam Coeden is never very far from a very large tree, and Mother Tree herself is quite capable of acting as entrance and exit for a casting of tree stride.

Greater Counterspell (Su): I don’t know. Something cool. Probably can use an immediate action to counter a spell and just sack a spell of the same level to do it. But only usable on arcane casters.
